AUSF Vice Presidential Candidate Withdraws Candidature from MSU Election 2024-25

Hyderabad: In a significant development ahead of the much-anticipated MSU Election for the 2024-25 term, Divya, a PhD scholar from the Department of English and the nominated Vice Presidential candidate of the Azad United Students' Federation (AUSF), has officially withdrawn her candidacy. The announcement was made through an official message shared in a campaign group on September 14, 2024.

In her message, Divya cited personal family matters as the primary reason for her decision to step down from the race. She emphasized that the decision was entirely personal and clarified that no external influences or pressures from any individuals or political groups were involved.

“I have decided to step down due to personal family matters that require my immediate attention,” Divya explained. She further requested that AUSF members refrain from using her name or image in any further campaign-related activities. Her withdrawal comes after submitting an official letter to the Dean of Student Welfare (DSW).

The AUSF Party, known for promoting academic activism and value-based politics, now faces the challenge of finding a replacement candidate for the Vice President post. Divya expressed her gratitude to her supporters for their encouragement throughout the journey but stated that stepping down was the best decision for her and her family at this time.

With the election around the corner, this unexpected development may alter the dynamics of the race, particularly within the AUSF’s core strategy.

The MSU elections are scheduled for later this year, and campaigns are gaining momentum across various schools and departments, with AUSF aiming to secure key leadership positions.

Updated Candidate Line-Up for AUSF:

Talha Mannan – President (Research Scholar, School of Education)

Muqaddas – Secretary (MSc Botany, School of Sciences)

Safina Bano – Joint Secretary (B.A. JMC, School of MCJ)

Simra Khan – Treasurer (M.A. English, School of Languages)

The AUSF leadership will soon announce any further updates regarding Divya's withdrawal and potential replacements for the Vice Presidential position.
