Hyderabad: The student protest at Maulana Azad National Urdu University ( a central University)(MANUU) has been led by candidates and leaders from various student bodies, including AUSF, ASL and ANSA. Additionally, former members of MSU (MANUU Students Union) are actively participating in the movement. These leaders have played a significant role in amplifying the demands of the students, which include the resignation of the proctor, conducting elections on time, improving hostel facilities, and addressing misbehavior by kitchen employees.
In a recent turn of events, the Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) administration has canceled the MANUU Students Union (MSU) elections for 2024-2025. The decision, announced on September 20, 2024, was taken due to the "prevailing situation and unrest" on the university campus, including its off-campus sites. The unrest is a result of ongoing protests led by student organizations such as AUSF, ASL, ANSA, and former MSU members. Their demands include the resignation of the proctor and provost, better hostel facilities, and timely student elections.
The order was signed by Prof. M. A. Azeem, Chief Returning Officer for the MSU elections.
