Hyderabad, 19 September 2024: Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) has been embroiled in student protests following demands for improved food quality, concerns over rising mess fees, and issues related to hygiene in the university mess. The students have also voiced dissatisfaction over delays in hostel allotments and the lack of accommodation for all students.
The protests intensified yesterday, leading to the resignation of the university's Provost. Students are now calling for the resignation of the university Proctor, accusing him of ignoring their demands and showing insensitivity toward their grievances.
It confirms the resignation of Dr. M. Yousuf Khan, the Provost of Boys' Hostels, effective from the same date. The notice also mentions that a committee will oversee the affairs of the hostels until further orders. The committee is composed of:

- Prof. P. Pradeep Kumar (Member)
This aligns with the ongoing issues reported among the students, which likely led to the resignation.
